While getting his Master’s degree, Aaron studied the chemotaxis and motility of Borrelia burgdorferi with Dr. MD. Motaleb at the Brody School of Medicine. He went on to do research with Dr. Shengmin Sang’s lab at NCA&T in Kannapolis and then joined Dr. Fodor’s group as a PhD student in 2017. His research interests include statistical analysis of microbiome and metabolomic data and developing software tools like BioLockJ. He is learning javascript, node, and front-end development. Other interests include gardening, solar cooking, and Brazilian Jujitsu.
